The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for continually improving the Company’s Health and Safety performance. This is done by inspecting business premises, advising and cooperating with employer/employees, investigating accidents, and through enforcement of the law.
Scope of responsibilities
- Developing and implementing annual health and safety and environmental working programs and strategies
- Organizing the company’s occupational health and safety activities in accordance with the law
- Keeping up to date the work health and safety and environmental rules, guidelines and risk analysis
- Monitoring of the processes and procedures to ensure the working environment is safe
- Investigating work accidents and complaints
- Carrying out work environment inspections and compiling the reports
- Ensuring workers are provided with suitable protective equipment
- Compiling training material and providing a systematic work environment training
- Ensuring the compliance of work health requirements
Key requirements
- Experience in the occupational health and safety field in a fast pace environment is an advantage
- Understanding of and/or experience in the maintenance field is considered an advantage
- Knowledge of the local health and safety legislation and environment policy’s
- The desire to contribute to improving the work environment of the company
- Well time-organized person, discreet, precise and responsible
- Strong personality with the ability to handle stress and various tasks at the same time
- Good team player, who understands how to achieve results through communication and collaboration
- Good written, oral and reading communication skills
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak Estonian and English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows
- B- category drivers’ license
